RI Shark License Plates to be Distributed This Weekend
Monday, September 25, 2023
The Atlantic Shark Institute (ASI) and the Rhode Island Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announced Monday they will hold a distribution event this weekend for the “shark” passenger and combination license plates pre-ordered by Rhode Islanders.
“From the very first hour we made the plates available we have been getting asked every single day when they would be ready and we are delighted that the vast majority of the passenger plates and combination plates will be finally hitting the road,” said Jon Dodd, ASI’s executive director.
The event will be held at the Division of Motor Vehicle’s office in Cranston over two days, Saturday, September 30, 2023 and Sunday, October 1, 2023, to accommodate the thousands of people who ordered the license plates adorned with its signature mako shark design.
