Road Rage on Federal Hill: Man Says Gun Pointed at Him on Atwells Avenue

Providence police are investigating a report of road rage on Federal Hill.
According to police, a man said a gun was pointed at him after he had beeped his horn.
This weekend marked the first “al fresco” dining on the Hill for the season, in which a portion of Atwells Avenue is blocked off for outdoor restaurant seating.

About Incident
Shortly after 6 PM on Saturday, police on patrol on Federal Hill said they were approached by a man who told them that he just had a gun pointed at him.
The man told police he was driving in the 300 block area of Atwells Avenue when he observed a white sedan obstructing traffic.
He said that after waiting for about five minutes that he beeped his horn at the vehicle several times in an attempt to make it move. Finally, the vehicle drove away.
According to police, the man said he believed the white sedan then circled around the block — and pulled up alongside him.
The man said the driver of the white sedan then pointed a gun at him before driving away.
Providence detectives are currently investigating.
