Federal Hill Restaurant Worker Reportedly Accosted by Knife-Wielding Man - Police Investigating

Providence police are investigating a report of an assault on Federal Hill overnight.
A worker at an Atwells Avenue restaurant said he was accosted by a man with a knife.
A witness who said he went to intervene said he was punched in the face.

About Incident
Shortly after 11:30 PM Monday night, police responded to 181 Atwells Avenue following a report of an assault.
Police met with a man who said he works at Sicilia's Pizzeria, and that he had been sitting inside his vehicle when he was approached by a man.
The victim told police the man was holding a knife - and told him to get out of his vehicle.
According to police, the victim said he then saw two other masked men then approach him as well.
A male witness said he saw what was happening and attempted to intervene, when he was reportedly punched in the face by one of the masked men.
The victims said the assailants then fled on foot.
Police are currently investigating.
