According to police, Slayden got into the passenger side when they approached the vehicle; police said there was a strong odor of marijuana and a suspected alcoholic beverage in the vehicle.
Police said that upon starting to search the vehicle, Slayden locked the trunk, and said the car’s owner — later identified as Jaylin Copland, age 22, would have to open it.
Copland then reportedly approached his vehicle, and as police officers noted that the trunk was slightly ajar, Copeland told them not to open it.
Upon opening the trunk, police said they found two loaded Glocks.
Police then attempted to detain both Slayden and Copland, who reportedly both physically resisted arrest.
Slayden and Copeland are being charged by the Patrol Bureau with resisting arrest, and were turned over to detectives and narcotics for further investigation and charging.
