Police said that upon arrival, they saw several people in front of the address playing loud music, who they told needed to go inside or leave.

At that time, police said they heard numerous gunshots being fired in the adjacent area; they then canvassed the area for suspects.

Police said they located a male by the adjacent bike path who appeared to be attempting to conceal a weapon.

According to police, the suspect — Joseph Trott, age 41 — attempted to flee the scene before ultimately being detained.

Police said Trott said someone “threw a gun at him” and took off down the bike path. Police said they then searched and seized a loaded weapon on Trott, and placed him in a police cruiser.

Upon searching Trott, police said they found cocaine, marijuana, and ammunition.

Trott is currently facing multiple firearms charges.
