University Heights Bank Robbery Reported on East Side of Providence

Providence Police responded to a report of a bank robbery at University Heights on the East Side on Tuesday afternoon.
According to police reports, no manager or security was on duty during the time of the robbery and only one teller saw what happened.

Upon arrival, police met with a bank teller who told police that the suspect was a white male with a black jacket, black pants, gray shoes, blue/green knit hat, dark-colored hair, sunglasses with red frame and wearing black gloves.
The teller told police the suspect passed a note demanding money.
The teller, who said no weapon was seen or mentioned, handed him approximately $775 without a dye pack or tracker.
The suspect then reportedly left the bank and entered a dark-colored Volkswagen 4-Door Jetta on the passenger side and left the area in an unknown direction.
The note was seized by police.
