NEW: Cranston Police Arrest Suspect in Drive-By Shooting on Park Ave

Cranston Police announced Monday that they arrested a Providence man in connection with the drive-by shooting that occurred on Park Avenue last week
As GoLocal reported, shortly before 9 PM on July 7, 2026, officers responded to the area of Park Avenue and Potter Street after receiving reports of shots being fired involving two vehicles.
Police said they located the intended victim's vehicle nearby and determined that multiple rounds had been fired into the vehicle. The occupants were not injured, say police.

Locating Suspect
Police said that an investigation utilizing surveillance video, witness interviews, forensic evidence, and automated license plate reader technology was conducted.
Detectives identified Amsua Bleh, 25, of Providence, as a suspect in the shooting.
According to police, on July 9, 2026, members of the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force, which includes two Cranston Police detectives, located and arrested Bleh during a traffic stop on Interstate 195 in East Providence.
He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Cranston Police Department
Bleh has been charged with:
Drive-By Shooting
Discharge of a Firearm While Committing a Crime of Violence
Four counts of Felony Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
Conspiracy
Weapons Law Violations
Following his arraignment, Bleh was ordered held on $100,000 surety bail. He is also being held on a parole violation.
"This arrest is the result of outstanding investigative work by our Detectives, patrol officers, crime scene personnel, and our law enforcement partners," said Colonel Michael J. Winquist. "Their efforts allowed us to quickly identify and apprehend a dangerous individual. While this is a significant development, the investigation remains active, and we continue to pursue all leads."
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional arrests or charges may follow.
