22-Year-Old Female Reportedly Attacked in East Side Robbery in Providence on Sunday

Providence police responded to a report of a robbery with an assault on the East Side on Sunday afternoon.
According to police, a 22-year-old female Brown University graduate student was walking on Brown Street around 4 PM on Sunday, when she was robbed — and slashed with a knife.
The woman was reportedly slashed in her thumb by two assailants, and her purse stolen.

Second East Side Assault in Two DAYS
Providence police were dispatched to 297 President Avenue shortly after 6:30 PM on Friday for a report of a first-degree robbery.
Police met with the female victim, age 67, who said she was walking her dog when an “older, dark color sedan, with a loud muffler” pulled up alongside her and a male subject exited the vehicle.
The victim was robbed of her purse — after an assailant flashed a knife.
