Man Pepper-Sprayed, Robbed on Broad Street in Providence
A man was pepper-sprayed and robbed in Providence overnight.
It happened on Broad Street, close to Route 95.
About Incident
Shortly before 4 AM on Sunday, police were called to Broad and Haskins Streets for a report of a robbery.
The victim - a male in his 50s - said he had been walking on Broad Street when he was approached by two men and a woman.
He told police one of the men then pulled out pepper spray and sprayed him in the face, which caused him to fall down.
The victim told police that while he was on the ground, the suspects went through his pockets and stole several hundred dollars from him.
Police said the victim had irritated and red skin around his eyes; rescue was called to the scene.
