GoLocal reported:

The Warwick Police Department on Wednesday released new information regarding the drowning that occurred on June 12, 2026, at Conimicut Point Beach involving a juvenile who was pulled from the water unresponsive.

According to police, seven-year-old Aston Jemson was at Conimicut Point Beach with his mother and younger sister on the afternoon of June 12.

Aston had been playing in the water on the south side of Conimicut Point, say police.

"Please be advised that this incident occurred on the south side of the point, not at the north side, or the point, where most other reports of distressed swimmers originate from," said police.
