Benefit Concert for Warwick Westgate Fire Victims This Sunday

A benefit concert to aid those who lost their homes in the massive Westgate condominium fire in Warwick this past March will take place this Sunday afternoon, April 19, at The Villa in West Warwick.
"38 families were affected. We hope to raise enough money to at least mitigate some of the losses experienced by each one. When middle class people who live month to month are affected like this, it is hard for them to recover from losing so much,” organizer and co-host Robin Soares told GoLocalProv.
Live entertainment will be provided by The Mac Odom Band, XS, The Real Deal, 5 Flavor Discount, and The Senders.

Mac Odom, former lead singer of Roomful of Blues and one of the performers Sunday, lost his home and possessions in the blaze.
A raffle will take place featuring prizes such as gift baskets, gift certificates from area restaurants and businesses, a Razor electric scooter, and more.
Admission is $25 at the door and includes a raffle ticket.
100 percent of the proceeds from the event will be distributed directly to the victims of the blaze, many of whom lost all of their belongings, and are in need of housing and other essentials.
