Eagles of Death Metal

Eagles of Death Metal arrive in Providence next week after what has undoubtedly been a trying year for the band. Of course, they were performing at the Bataclan Theatre in Paris during the November 2015 terror attacks. They’ve resumed touring since the tragedy and arrive at Lupo’s next Wednesday May 11. Of course, they are not actually a death metal band, but described by co-founder Josh Homme as “a cross between the Eagles and Death Metal.” Thelma and the Sleaze open the all ages show at 8PM – tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door.

Christopher Paul Stelling

There are folk singers and there are folk singers and Christopher Paul Stelling is one of the most talented singer-songwriters touring today. His fingerpicking expertise complements his restrained, yet sincere, voice – check out his recent album Labor Against Waste to see what we mean. He was recently featured on CBS Sunday Morning and you can check him out tomorrow night at Lilypads in Peacedale. Singer-songwriter Jonah Tolchin opens at 7:30.
