Joe Satriani at The Vets
Renowned guitarist Joe Satriani is stopping by The Vets in Providence next week on his “Surfing to Shockwave” tour. Satriani is authentic guitar royalty, a 15 time Grammy award nominee who has sold over 10 million albums, making him the biggest-selling instrumental rock guitarist of all time. Over the years, he’s collaborated with numerous artists including Mick Jagger, Brian May and Kenny Wayne Shepard. He appears at The Vets next Thursday, March 31. Billy Currington at Ryan
Country star Billy Currington comes to the Ryan Center at URI tomorrow night. Currington has enjoyed six #1 hits over his 12 year career, including “Don’t It” from the 2015 album Summer Forever. He’s joined by rising star Kelsea Ballerini whose single “Love Me Like You Mean It” made #1 on the Billboard Country chart making her the first solo female artist in nine years to hit #1 with a debut single. Expect a high energy show! Tickets available here starting at $24.50. Music starts at 7:30PM.
Titus Andronicus at Met
A super-charged double bill is on tap at The Met Saturday night. The line-up has New Jersey rockers Titus Andronicus “specializing in punk solutions since 2005,” along with NYC singer-songwriter Craig Finn of The Hold Steady. Last September, Finn released his second album, Faith in the Future. Both indie acts are critically acclaimed, and on the verge of mainstream success. Tickets are $16 for the all-ages show that begins around 9PM.
John Brown's Body at Fete
Tonight at Fete, dance to the beat of John Brown’s Body, the Ithica, NY based reggae band. The band has been movin and shakin since the mid-90’s when they hit the scene as part of the renaissance in American reggae. The popular band is known to incorporate elements roots, dub and ska in their music. People’s Champs and Tobler open at 8PM. Tickets $15 in advance, $17 at the door.
Amy Helm at Narrows
Singer-songwriter Amy Helm is coming to the Narrows Center next Thursday March 31. Helm, who played in the popular alt-country band Ollabelle, recently released her first solo album, Didn’t it Rain. Of course, she’s also the daughter of Levon Helm (of the Band), who she joined regularly for many years at his weekly “Midnight Ramble” at the famous Woodstock, NY studio/barn. Tickets for the Narrows show are $27 in advance, $30 day of show. Martha Scanlan opens at 8PM.
