Transfer Portal Mega Moves: URI Lands One, Leggett Goes to Pitt, and Bynum Heads to Stanford

The NCAA men’s basketball transfer portal is running in overdrive.

Here are the latest moves that impact the top Rhode Island programs.

Former Providence College guard Jared Bynum has signed with Stanford University. Bynum played four years for the Friars and was named the Big East 6th player of the year after his junior year. He was named pre-season all Big East but struggled his senior year.

 

Also announced Monday, URI’s star guard Ishmael Leggett has announced he is headed to the University of Pittsburgh. Leggett was URI’s second-leading scorer and second in assists, and the leading defender on the team.

 

URI did sign Quinnipiac 6’3” guard Luis Kortright. He is a rising senior and averaged 10 points per game last season.

 

There are still a number of URI and PC players still unsigned in the portal.
