He is the ninth player in the last two seasons to transfer from the URI basketball team.

Rhode Island will now have four open scholarships for the 2020-21 season.

Long With URI This Season

Long was the first commitment in URI’s class of 2019, ranked as a four-star recruit by ESPN.

During his freshman season, he saw significant time for URI off the bench along with fellow freshman Jacob Toppin.

Long played in 30 games and averaged 13 minutes, two rebounds and three points per game.

He made his only start on December 29 in a win at Middle Tennessee.

URI in 2020-2021

URI finished 21-9 overall and 13-5 in the A-10 this past season, good enough for third in the conference.

The Rams return star player Fatts Russell, but lose seniors Jeff Dowtin and Cyril Langevine.

Rhode Island has two recruits incoming in guards Ishmael Leggett and Elijah Wood.
