Patriots Center Andrews Has Blood Clots in Lungs, Released from Hospital Late Monday Night

New England Patriots center David Andrews has blood clots in his lungs and may miss the 2019 season, according to The Athletic’s Jeff Howe.
Andrews was hospitalized on Monday to undergo tests to determine the cause of the blood clots and get treatment.
According to the Boston Globe’s Jim McBride, Andrews was released from the hospital around 10 p.m. Monday night.

Andrews With Patriots
Andrews, 27, signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2015.
Since coming into the league, Andrews has played in 60 career regular-season games and made 57 starts.
He has also started nine playoff games including New England’s last three Super Bowl appearances.
Replacing Andrews
With Andrews out indefinitely, Ted Karras is the likely candidate to replace him at center.
Since starting his career in 2016, Karras has appeared in 45 games for the Patriots at both center and at right guard.
James Ferentz is also on the depth chart as a potential replacement.
He has played 23 career NFL games, with no starts.
