President Donald Trump did not win a second term, but his performance in Rhode Island was equal by every measure to his achievement in the state in 2016.

In fact, Trump won nearly 40% of the statewide vote (38.8%) a total of 197,475 to Biden's 301,108 votes (59.2%).

Trump won nearly 17,000 more votes in Rhode Island than he did in 2016 and earned almost exactly the same percentage of the vote.

Trump in 2016 got 38.9% v. 38.8% in 2020.

Trump in 2020 won 60,000 more votes than President George H.W. Bush won in 1992 in Rhode Island.

President-elect Joe Biden and the future Vice-President Kamala Harris have been declared the winners and recorded the highest vote count ever in U.S. history and Biden/Harris received more votes than Barack Obama and Biden received in RI in 2008.

Trump has yet to concede, but he did Tweet Saturday night in defiance. Trump will receive the second most votes in U.S. history.

One of the tweets was tagged by Twitter.

First Trump tweeted, “THE OBSERVERS WERE NOT ALLOWED INTO THE COUNTING ROOMS. I WON THE ELECTION, GOT 71,000,000 LEGAL VOTES. BAD THINGS HAPPENED WHICH OUR OBSERVERS WERE NOT ALLOWED TO SEE. NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. MILLIONS OF MAIL-IN BALLOTS WERE SENT TO PEOPLE WHO NEVER ASKED FOR THEM!

This claim about election fraud is disputed.

Then a minute later, the President tweeted, “71,000,000 Legal Votes. The most EVER for a sitting President!”

Earlier in the day Trump tweeted, "I WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT!"
