Vice President Harris Arrives in Rhode Island

United States Vice President Kamala Harris is in Rhode Island.

The VP Tweeted that she arrived at approximately 11:43 AM, where she will be joined by U.S. Secretary of Commerce — and former RI Governor — Gina Raimondo. 

“Welcome to RI,” Raimondo Tweeted.

Harris and Raimondo are expected at a women’s event at CIC in Providence Wednesday afternoon.

The highways and roads have seen increased traffic — and security — due to Harris' visit. 

On Tuesday, UVA Political Science Chair Jennifer Lawless questioned the visit to sell President Joe Biden’s infrastructure plan — as U.S. Senators Sheldon Whitehouse and Jack Reed would likely not be opposed to the measure.
