She's often accused as being a "DINO" by the more progressive side of the Rhode Island Democratic Party, and on Thursday, Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo was mistakenly called a Republican by Mika Brzezinski during an appearance on "Morning Joe."
Raimondo, who is in Philadelphia for the Democratic National Convention, appeared on the MSNBC morning political show with Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, when the conversation turned to Donald Trump.
"Let me put Gina in an awkward position, as a Republican but the first woman Governor of Rhode Island...," Brzezinski started, before clearly getting corrected by a producer in her ear phone -- but not before trying to backtrack.
