According to the State Police, Gallagher was arrested as the result of an investigation of an incident that took place on April 16, 2023.
Members of the Uniformed Division initiated an investigation into a shooting that occurred on the Dean Street ramp from Route 6 East in the City of Providence. The incident involved a suspect discharging numerous rounds into the victim's vehicle during a road rage altercation. The victim’s vehicle was occupied by four people but none of them were struck by gunfire. The incident was turned over to members of the Detective Bureau for further investigation and detectives were able to identify the shooting suspect as Gallagher.
Detectives executed six search warrants which culminated in the arrest of Gallagher on several charges. During the search warrant at Gallagher's residence, detectives seized three firearms, including a ghost gun, a gun with an altered serial number, and large-capacity feeding devices.
Gallagher was arraigned on June 6, 2023, at Sixth Division District Court before Associate Judge DuBose and issued $50,000 surety bail for the guns charges but held without bail as a parole violator. Gallagher is currently scheduled for a pre-arraignment conference on September 11, 2023.
