The driving force in this legal and financial nightmare are the members of the pension plan, especially the retirees who attend every hearing wearing their purple T-shirts adorned with the message “Save Our Pensions.”

The group is both elegant and determined. Primarily comprised of women in their 60s, 70s, and 80s, these are Rhode Islanders who dedicated their lives to attending to the health of others under the Catholic Church.

While receiver Stephen Del Sesto and special investigator Max Wistow are driving the legal strategy, it is the commitment to a fair and honest resolution for the retirees that drives the two attorneys and, hopefully, justice.
