Providence Liquor Store Robbed at Gunpoint and Carjacking Reported at Cumberland Farms Tuesday Night

A Providence liquor store was reportedly robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday night.

Police are also investigating a report of a carjacking at a Cumberland Farms on Branch Avenue.

Shortly before 8 PM on Tuesday, police responded to a call for an armed robbery at Union Liquors at 558 Admiral Street.

The victim told police that a man came into the store, pulled out what appeared to be a black handgun, and demanded the store’s money. 

The suspect took the money and then fled on foot, according to the victim. 

Providence police then received a call after 10 PM for a report of a robbery at the Cumberland Farms at 744 Branch Avenue.

The victim told police he was in his car about to get gas, when a male approached him and tried to get in his vehicle.

According to police, the victim said the suspect then flashed what appeared to be a firearm. The victim said the suspect was able to get into his car and drive off. 

Police are currently investigating both incidents.
