On Saturday afternoon, a portion of the exterior staircase at Portsmouth Portuguese American Citizens Club collapsed.

According to local public safety officials, a 15-year-old girl died and three other people suffered significant injuries.
Besides Portsmouth public safety, the Middletown and Bristol fire departments provided aid.
