Fit for Life: Do you have “DEATH INSURANCE”?
Saturday, August 08, 2020
A few things happened this past week they gave me the idea for this article.
First, I was talking with my 97-year-old grandmother, then after hanging up, I heard an ad for life insurance as low as $175 per month.
Then I put them both together.
GET THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS HERE -- SIGN UP FOR GOLOCAL FREE DAILY EBLASTLife insurance is for when you pass away and you leave money to a beneficiary, so they get taken care of when you are gone.
That’s a nice thing to do for someone, and a selfless act of kindness to pay for something that will never benefit you.
It also means that you are organized and have things in place for the worst-case scenario.
My question to you is:
• What if you live for a while?
• Do you have a policy for that?
• Are you prepared to live a long productive life?
Then I started thinking about what we do at Providence Fit Body Boot Camp, and how our program helps people feel young, vibrant and full of positive energy.
We coach people to become the best version of themselves by administering functional workouts, along with nutrition and habit-forming mindset techniques, so people stay vital, healthy, and move well while they are still alive.
Fact, many of our members are over 40, and they can move better than some people in their 20’s!!
So, in addition to having a “life” insurance policy for when you die, I sincerely think you should have a “death” insurance policy, in case you live for a while.
Yes, I just made that term up, but think about it.
Don’t you deserve to take care of you, so you feel great, move well, and have unlimited energy to live life to the fullest while you are on this earth?
Although my grandmother is sharp as a tack mentally, she has been in rough shape physically for years.
Her joints have been loaded with severe arthritis for a long time, and for the last few years, she is unable to walk on her own.
It has been tough to watch her suffer in pain these past years, and I am 100% convinced that if she kept up with her health, and exercised, she would be in a better position now.
No, she wouldn’t be running marathons, however, with better nutrition, and a few walks per week, she may be able to walk with her walker.
Regardless of the situation, we are grateful to have her still around.
I am telling you this because, with modern medicine, people are living longer, so wouldn’t you want your quality of life to be high while you are alive?
Let’s think about this and analyze what happens if you live a long life, and DO NOT stay fit and healthy.
First, you start getting ailments such as achy joints, back pain, and walk around feeling tired and lethargic all day long.
This is due to being sedentary and eating inflammatory foods on a regular basis. (Inflammatory foods are the root of many other ailments such as acid reflux & gastrointestinal issues too).
Then, the medication starts rolling in, and next thing you know, you have the bottles lined up on the shelf.
These types of symptoms are happening to people in their 40’s, so imagine what a long path of misery they will be walking if they live into their 80’s.
Next, you will most likely gain some weight, unless you are in the 1% of people that stay thin regardless of what they eat.
And if you are a parent, you will be limited to what you can do for your family, depending on the caliber of the weight gain.
If you let things go long enough, you will need to rely on others to take care of you when you become immobile or develop heart disease or diabetes.
I was at the beach watching a guy run around with what appeared to be his granddaughter last weekend, and after 2-3 minutes, this guy needed to stop and catch his breath.
He wasn’t much older than 60, and he was struggling to keep up with a kid that looked around 3.
Not a good situation.
When my nephew was a Cub Scout, I would be the one to take him on camping trips and would always be the guy that ran around with the kids and administer the fitness style activities. I loved being the one the kids would pick to play tag, chase, and all the other physical activities.
Sadly, I got to see first-hand what being an unhealthy parent could result in when a guy I got very friendly with died an untimely death.
He was a gentle giant of a man (probably 300 +lbs.) that I had some great conversations with and became very fond of. He offered me lots of great advice, and I am grateful I got to know him. I was heartbroken to hear of his passing, knowing he had 2 boys my nephew’s age in Scouts.
He was also an estate attorney that definitely had all his affairs in place. I’m 100% sure he had a life insurance policy, but he didn’t invest in “death insurance”, and now his family is left behind without him.
That’s a very sad story, however, the good news for you is that it’s never too late to make a change, and choose the road to health, fitness, and hopefully longevity. It is however, too late for him.
A gentleman that started our program after 50 years old was skeptical when he joined us.
He never imagined that at that age, he could turn things around.
If you read my newsletter, we featured him last week, and he tells his story, and admits that after a few months of clean eating and regular exercise, he feels like a new man.
He comes in with his son, and his son struggles to keep up with him!!
His goal is to have 6 pack abs, and he is really close!!
It’s far from impossible and very probable that if you start taking action today, you could be a better version of yourself in as short as 3-6 months.
At Providence Fit Body Boot Camp, we have numerous testimonials from people getting off medication, losing weight, and becoming more mobile and vital after a short time in our coaching program. (FYI, we NEVER recommend people stop their meds, so when this happens it’s because the doctor felt they were no longer necessary)
And the best news of all is that it costs less to insure you stay healthy, then it does to pay for life insurance.
I love the quote “Pay the farmer now, or pay the doctor later”, but I like “Pay your coach now, or pay the funeral director later” better because it hits home harder, and some of you reading this may be doctors.
So, ask yourself if you prefer to be more valuable to your family now while you are alive, or when you are dead.
Is it worth the investment in your health now, or do you see more value investing in your demise?
If you are ready to invest in a “death insurance” policy and live the best version of yourself for you and your family, my team and I can get you started asap.
Just go to [email protected] and express interest, so we can help lead you on your health and fitness journey.
If not, be sure to save some cash for when you get sick and start investing in that life insurance.
Remember that your family needs you now, and you will live a happier and more productive life when you are on point with your health and fitness!!
You make the choice whether you want to provide for them now, or when you are gone, but most likely they would choose now, and prefer to keep you alive for a long time.
Committed to your health and longevity
Coach Matt
