Join the Naval War College Museum at the McMacken Community Center at Fort Adams for the 8 Bells Lecture Series.

They will explore military and maritime history topics during our noontime lectures which take place on the first Thursday of the month, October-June.

Newport Gulls Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Gurney's 

On February 2, 2019, the Newport Gulls will be inducting their Fifth Class into the Newport Gulls Hall of Fame.

The event is sure to be a truly special occasion as former players, host families, interns, sponsors, fans, and additional members of the Newport Gulls Family gather to honor the seven individuals selected to this year's Hall of Fame Class and enjoy a fun night out. Admission includes a buffet dinner, silent auction, cash bar, video presentations, music, and more​

The ceremony begins at 6 p.m.

Save The Bay seal tours and nature cruises prove that summer isn’t the only time to enjoy the Bay. Join them aboard one of our education vessels as we motor through historic Newport Harbor and take in 360º views of seals resting on Citing Rock off of Rose Island and the Newport Bridge.

Save The Bay provides binoculars, and expert guides offer an educational view of our winter marine visitors and the habitat they love.

28th Fakes & Forgeries at Spring Bull Gallery 

From its conception 27 years ago, artists have been invited to submit serious "copies" or tongue-in-cheek humorous interpretation of known artwork in two and three-dimensional form. The February exhibit has grown to be a much-anticipated area event for both artists and the art appreciators.

The artists study and learn techniques used by the old and modern masters while the public has a chance to enjoy and own an “almost masterpiece” without traveling to Boston or New York.

Ayurvedic Bodywork Specialist Program at SAMA 

Students will become proficient as a “hands-on healer” using the ancient wisdom of Ayurvedic healing principles and touch therapy systems to help remedy the stress of today’s world.

Students will learn the foundations of medical Ayurveda, how to access and classify pain, find specific pain remedies, specific applications of oils, poultices, thermo and hydrotherapy, healing muds/pastes, marma pressure points, herbal potions and the anointing of other therapeutic substances on the body.

Students will learn how to harmonize bodywork modalities with the seasons, doshic diet and routine protocols, using neutral, safe and innocuous oils, energy medicine, intuitive awakening of the soul’s innate healing gifts, therapeutic applications and pastes as well as be able to demonstrate proficiency using hands-on techniques.

The program runs from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
