First Look at Proposed 83-Unit Gano Street Project in Fox Point

The development team for one of Rhode Island’s major contracting firms unveiled its plan for a new 83-unit residential development on Gano Street in the Fox Point section of Providence.
The project was presented on Tuesday night at the Providence City Plan Commission.

Many Fox Point and East Side businesses and residents have petitioned to keep the ramp open.
The developer of the project, H.V. Collins, is seeking variances on height and parking for the complex.
H.V. Collins, the applicant, is a Rhode Island-based General Contracting firm providing "high-touch, client-first construction services across the greater New England region," according to the company's website.
The proposed project would include 83 units and extend to 68 feet and 6 stories. There proposed project would include internal parking for just 68 spots. By zoning, the project is limited to 50 feet, four stories and would be required to have one parking spot per unit — 83.
