Allegra Zamore, an NBC 10 WJAR multimedia journalist, is the latest reporter to leave the Providence-based station.

Zamore's departure comes after less than two years with the outlet, and just two weeks after weekend anchor Liz Bateson announced she was leaving the station.

“That’s a wrap! If my time in this industry has taught me anything it’s that sometimes dreams can change and life is too short to wake up every day anything less than excited about what’s ahead. I’ve met some amazing people along the way & covered stories I’ll carry with me forever," Zamore posted to social media.

"Here’s to living life at a slower pace, spending more time with family and friends, and hopefully never setting my alarm for 2 am ever again,” she continued.

Zamore joined the station in September 2022 as a multimedia journalist.

BIO:

According to her now-deleted WJAR bio, Zamore joined the NBC 10 News team in September 2022 as a multimedia journalist.

"Allegra grew up in Virginia. She graduated from the University of Virginia in 2018 with a degree in media studies. While there, Allegra interned for the Athletic Media Relations Department and covered the ACC Men's Basketball Tournament. Go Hoos!

After a brief stint in the corporate marketing world after college, Allegra went back to school and earned her master's degree in sports journalism at Northwestern University.

While in graduate school she covered the Chicago Public Schools teacher strike, the impact of COVID-19 on collegiate and professional athletes, and the Chicago Marathon.

After graduating in 2020, Allegra joined WABI-TV in Bangor, Maine, as the central Maine bureau chief and later became an evening anchor and reporter.

While in Maine, Allegra covered the state legislature, the overcrowding of Acadia National Park, and the ongoing controversy surrounding the NECEC corridor project.

In her free time, Allegra is usually trying out new fitness studios, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers (sorry!), and looking for the best restaurants in town!"
