The URI Rams (12-9. 4-4 A-10) fell 64-55 to (18-3, 7-1 A-10) Saint Joseph's Hawks on Saturday night at the Ryan Center. Saint Joseph's sweeps the season series with URI.

URI trailed 30-19 at the half and opened the second on a 5-0 run, cutting their deficit to six, 30-24 after a Jarvis Garrett three with 18:21 to play. Just one of the four three-pointers that the Rams hit all night.

However, Saint Joseph's would then go on an 18-4 run to take a commanding 20 point lead, 48-28, with 12:52 to play in the game.

URI used an 18-6 run to get within nine, 54-45, with 4:20 to play but were unable to get any closer. 

First Half 

The Rams opened up the half by taking a 4-0 lead after two baskets from Hassan Martin. However, they would then go without a field goal for the next seven minutes allowing Saint Joseph's to take an 11-6 lead and gain confidence. 

With the game tied at 11, Saint Joseph's went on a 13-2 run to take a 24-13 lead with 5 minutes to play. 

The Hawks would lead at the half 30-19. 

The Leaders 

Jared Terrell led URI with 22 points on 8 of 16 shooting from the field. This is the second consecutive game in which Terrell has eclipsed the 20 point mark and has led URI in scoring.

Injuries

Kuran Iverson 

Early in the second half, Kuran Iverson took an elbow to the head and left the game

Iverson would miss the remainder of the game and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.  

Jarvis Garrett

With less than 4 minutes to play, Jarvis Garrett collided with Shavar Newkirk and also left the game. Garrett was taken to a local hospital.

Jarvis Garrett

Prior to getting injured, Jarvis Garrett scored 13 points on 6 of 12 shooting from the field.

Garrett also grabbed 9 rebounds, dished out 2 assists and recorded 2 steals for the Rams. 

Garrett has reached double figures in each of URI's last 8 games.

Jared Terrell

Jared Terrell led the Rams with 22 points on 8 of 16 shooting from the field and 4 of 5 from the free throw line. 

Terrell has now eclipsed the 20 point make in two consecutive games and has reached double figures in three straight. 

This is the second game in a row in which Terrell has led the URI attack.

Foul Trouble

Hassan Martin fouled out of the game with 11:24 to play. Martin finished with 3 rebounds, 2 points, 1 block and 1 steal for URI. 

Martin averages 12 points and 5 rebounds per game for the Rams and has fouled out in three straight games for URI, reaching double figures in only one of those three games. 

The Rams need him on the floor.

3-point shooting

The Rams went 4 of 23 from three-point land, shooting 17% for the game. 

In the second half, the Rams got way behind and had to jack up the three ball when it was there, but in the first half they just hurt their own momentum. 

URI went 2-10 from three in the first half, shooting 20%. 

URI shot 19 percent from the field in the first half and did not get to 20 points. 

For the game, the Rams shot 31% from the field and only had 4 assists. 

To be fair, Saint Joseph's was not much better, shooting 38% from the field, 7% from three and only had 4 assists.
