The Friars built their lead up to 12 points in the second half but mistakes and missed free throws allowed Yale to get back into the game. The Bulldogs cut the Friars lead to three points, 69-66, with 20 seconds left before LaDontae Henton and Kyron Cartwright made free throws to seal the victory. Providence was 25 of 40 from the free throw line for a 62.5 percent rating.

Once again, LaDontae Henton led the Friars with 29 points and six rebounds in the game while Tyler Harris followed up with 14 points and seven rebounds. With the injuries to Kris Dunn and Jalen Lindsey, Ted Bancroft saw significant playing time and registered a career high nine points in the game.

Javier Duren led the Yale Bulldogs with 21 points in the loss.

The Friars are back in action on Sunday, November 30, when they travel to Lexington, Kentucky to take on the #1 team in the country, the Kentucky Wildcats at 2 p.m. The game can be seen on ESPN2.

Ted Bancroft

Have to give Ted Bancroft credit. As a walk on, he never knows when he is going to play or for how long but whenever he does come in, he provides a spark for the team and the fans.

With the absence of Dunn and Lindsey Bancroft played significant minutes, 27, in this game and had a career high nine points. He had one turnover and six rebounds, which is tied for second most on the team in this game.

Bancroft also added one assist, one block and one steal to complete his night.

Junior Lamomba

It had to be a frustrating night for freshman Junior Lomomba. He started the game next to Cartwright, played about five minutes in the first half and then sat the rest of the half.

Lomomba started the second half, played about two minutes and then sat the rest of the half. He played 7 minutes total in the game and had one turnover and two personal fouls. In his defense, it's hard to establish any sort of rhythm with minutes like that.

Not really sure what coach Cooley's strategy was with this type of line up juggling. Bancroft replaced Lomomba every time, so why not just start Bancroft?  Lets see what he does on Sunday.

Kyron Cartwright

With Dunn out, Cartwright did the majority of the ball handling and play calling for the Friars and overall he represented himself very well in the game.

Cartwright had eight points, six rebounds and dished out seven assists in the game plus he picked up a steal in 39 minutes of play time.

He did have four turnovers in the game but none of them were glaring errors. Overall, he looked comfortable out there and did a nice job. A good sign for Providence going forward.

Lets see how he does against Kentucky.

Free Throws

This is seemingly a problem every year with the Friars. Providence just struggles at the free throw line.

PC went 25 of 40, 62.5 percent, from the charity stripe tonight and missed some key free throws down the stretch to keep Yale in the game.

Again, as it is seemingly every year, this is a concern going forward for the Friars. It nearly cost them in this game.

Yale shot 71 percent from the free throw line in the game.

That was a grind

With Kris Dunn and Jalen Lindsey out, this game was going to be a bit tougher then it would have been. Plus, the fact that Yale is a good team that could very well challenge Harvard in the Ivy league this year.

However, the Friars got the win and that is what matters.

LaDontae Henton had 29 points and Tyler Harris had 14 to get the Friars to a 6-0 record heading into Kentucky on Sunday.

The Freshmen got some valuable experience as well.
