The Bryant University Bulldogs football team rallied in the second half to beat Wagner 14-10 on Saturday afternoon in Staten Island, New York.

The rally was capped off by a pick-six by Bryant’s Richard Ukele to give the Bulldogs the lead in the fourth quarter.

"I'm proud of the guys for not panicking at halftime. It took some time to regroup offensively and defensively. They controlled us pretty much the entire first half. We talked about getting into our game plan, into our groove and that opening drive of the third quarter went a long way in helping us establish that. The defense fed off the energy and Richie got the pick six, ending his career on the right way. Good team win to finish out the season. Now we carry some momentum heading into the offseason,’ said head coach Chris Merritt after the game.

Pick-6 Caps Off Bryant Comeback

The Bulldogs trailed 10-7 entering the fourth quarter, after being down 10-0 at the half.

With 11:44 to play in the game, Bryant’s Andrew Wallace got off the line of scrimmage and got his hand on a Wagner pass up into the air.

Ukele made an over-the-should catch on the deflection and returned it 17 yards for the touchdown.

The Bulldogs defense did the rest.

Bryant pitched a second-half shutout, holding Wagner to just 75 yards of total offense in the half.

Senior Robert Brown led the Bulldogs with 13 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble and Andre Brackett posted nine tackles for the Bulldogs.

The 260 offensive yards are the fewest allowed by the Bryant defense this season.
