REPORT: Former Patriot Gronkowski Close to Signing With WWE

Former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is reportedly on the verge of joining WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment).
According to Ryan Satin on WWE Backstage on late Tuesday night, Gronkowski is “deep in talks with WWE and close to finalizing a deal.”
Satin added that Gronkowski could appear on WWE television as soon as Friday, March 20 in New Orleans.

Gronkowski appeared at WrestleMania 33 in April of 2017 and helped his friend Mojo Rowley defeat Jinder Mahal for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Gronkowski’s NFL Career
The Patriots selected Gronkowski with the 42nd overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft.
In his career, Gronkowski scored a total of 80 touchdowns with 79 touchdown catches.
His 79 touchdown catches are the third-most for a tight end in NFL history.
In the postseason, Gronkowski hauled in 81 catches for 1,163 yards, helping the Patriots to three Super Bowl titles.
Gronkowski announced his decision to retire from football back in March of 2019.
Post-NFL
Following his NFL career, Gronkowski announced that he will be partnering with CBD Medic brand of Abacus Medical Solutions Products, as GoLocalProv reported.
According to a release by the company, "The agreement with Gronkowski and related agreements include payment of an upfront fee, royalties to be derived from a new sports-oriented nutrition & wellness brand that is planned to be launched, and an issuance of 302,835 subordinate voting shares in the Company and warrants to acquire 35,666 subordinate voting shares at a price of US$15.00 per share. Additional warrants are issuable on an annual basis during the term of the agreement."
In the past, Gronkowski has also been in Dunkin' Donut commercials and done appearances for other brands.
In October of 2019, Gronkowski joined Fox Sports as an NFL analyst.
