PC Basketball Star Diallo to Submit Name for NBA Draft

Providence College basketball star Alpha Diallo will submit his name for the 2019 NBA Draft.
He will have the option to return to Providence for his senior season if he withdraws his name by Wednesday, May 29.
"I am declaring for the NBA Draft. I am excited to go through the workout process. I will be staying in school this spring and finishing my junior year. I believe this process will help me grow as a player. I enjoy being at Providence College and playing for the Friars. The Friars have a strong group of players returning next season and I believe the team could compete for the conference championship,” said Diallo in a statement.

"We support Alpha and as he goes through this process. This process will enable him to gain knowledge and experience about the potential for his future in professional basketball. Alpha has always had a goal of playing basketball at the highest level and this is one of the steps towards his goal,” said PC head coach Ed Cooley in a statement.
Diallo This Season
This season, Diallo averaged 16 points and eight rebounds per game for the Friars, leading them to an 18-16 overall record and an appearance in the NIT.
His eight rebounds per game were second best in the Big East and his 16 points per game were ninth best in the conference.
Diallo was tied for first in the league in double-doubles with ten.
Following the season, Diallo was named Second Team All-Big East.
In his career at PC, Diallo has recorded 1,155 career points in 99 games (11.7 ppg).
He ranks 33rd all-time in scoring at Providence.
