He chose Providence over Miami and South Carolina.
About Nichols, Scout.com writes "Nichols brings a lot of versatility to the court. He is very comfortable as a stretch power forward, but also he might be able to spend time as a pure wing. Nichols can really shoot the ball from deep, and especially good when shooting off the catch. Also, he is a solid athlete who can score on straight line drives to the rim and brings defensive versatility."
Nichols is the third commit to PC’s 2018 recruiting class along with AJ Reeves and Kris Monroe.
About Nichols
Nichols is a left-handed forward who measures at 6’7," 200 pounds.
He plays for Conway High School where he averaged 15 points and 10 per game as a junior.
He was voted Toast of the Coast boys basketball player of the year. He was also voted by South Carolina state basketball coaches as a Class 5A all-star.
PC Recruiting
The commitment of Nichols builds on what the Friars have coming in for the class of 2017.
Following the commitment of Ashton-Langford, the Friars have one of the best incoming recruiting classes in the country. According to the 24/7 Sports Composite National Rankings, Providence has the 14th best recruiting class in the nation and the second best in the Big East, behind only Xavier who ranks 9th.
Ashton-Langford will join forward Nate Watson and center DaJour Dickens as part of the incoming class of 2017.
