The University of Rhode Island men’s basketball team has received a commitment from four-star forward Jermaine Harris for the recruiting class of 2018.
Harris announced his decision via his Twitter account on Friday afternoon.

ESPN ranks Harris as the 85th best player in the country.
Harris' final decision was between Rhode Island and Xavier.
He also had interest from West Virginia, Kansas, Miami, Maryland and South Carolina.
Jermaine Harris
Harris is a 6’8” 200 pund forward from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and Rock Creek Christian High School.
He also plays for the D.C. Premier team on the Under Armour Association Circuit.
With D.C. Premier over the summer, Harris averaged 13.4 points on 56 percent shooting in 17 games overall on the circuit, helping his team reach the Under Armour Association’s UAA Finals.
In the showcase event, he averaged a double-double in all five games.
URI Recruiting
Harris is the fourth player to commit to the Rams for the class of 2018.
He follows shooting guard Tyrese Martin, small forward Dana Tate and guard Amir Harris.
The Rams have one scholarship remaining.
