NEW: After Cranston Arrest, Providence Police Also Charge Powell on Separate Domestic Assault Incident

The legal problems for Providence College basketball player Duncan Powell continue to grow.
As GoLocal previously reported, Cranston Police charged Powell with domestic disorderly conduct.
Now, in a separate incident, Providence Police arrested Powell, and he is being charged with domestic assault.

Providence Charge
According to Providence Police Major David Lapatin, Powell turned himself in to the police on Sunday at the Public Safety Complex.
He will be held overnight.
In the Cranston incident, he allegedly threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend and others who were attending a party, and also threatened to kill himself.
All of these allegations are outlined in a Cranston Police report secured by GoLocal.
According to the Crasnton Police report:
REDACTED stated he was trying to find out REDACTED location. She stated Duncan began just calling numerous times and was threatening to come over to kill REDACTED and then himself. She stated then left the residence in fear that Duncan was going to cause her harm and her friends. A short time later, they heard banging on the door and heard Duncan telling REDACTED to exit the residence so she contacted the Police.
I then spoke REDACTED who was another witness inside the residence at the time of the incident. He stated REDACTED left residence in a hurry because Duncan stated he was going to shoot her. He stated a short time later. He observed the tall white male, wearing all black get out of a black Cadillac.
As Duncan approached the front door, he could observe something sticking out of his sweatshirt pocket. While at the door, Duncon began yelling to REDACTED to get out of the house if not he was going to kill everyone in the residence including himself after he kills everyone. Stated Duncan was at the front door for approximately four mins then took off.
