Former RIC Basketball Coach Walsh to be Inducted into Little East Hall of Fame

Walsh is currently the associate director of player development/scheduling and recruiting coordinator for the Providence College men’s basketball team.
The ceremony will take place on Saturday, January 11 at halftime of the Anchormen’s game against Keene State at The Murray Center on RIC's campus.

Walsh at RIC
Walsh led Rhode Island College for nine seasons (2005-14), compiling a record of 204-63.
His .764 winning percentage is the highest in program history and he ranks second all-time in career victories. Walsh led RIC to Little East Conference Regular Season Championships five times (2013, ’11, 10, ’09, ’07) and to six Little East Conference Tournament Championships (2014, ’13, ’11, ’10, ’08, ’07).
During his tenure, RIC qualified for the NCAA Div. III Men’s Basketball Tournament in eight seasons from 2007-14, one of only five institutions in the nation that can claim that feat.
The Anchormen reached the NCAA Elite Eight in 2007 and the Sweet 16 twice (2011, ’10).
He was inducted into RIC’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016.

Before joining Providence College, Walsh was previously the technical director at IMG Academy.
Walsh was the head men’s basketball coach at the University of Maine from 2014-18. Prior to coming to RIC, Walsh spent seven seasons as an assistant coach at Providence College.
He is a 1994 graduate of Hamilton College, earning a bachelor’s degree in sociology.
Walsh procured a master’s degree in mass communications and public relations from Iona in 1996.
