Reeves, Watson Lift PC Basketball Over Pepperdine 80-77

The Providence College Friars men’s basketball team snapped its three-game losing streak on Sunday night, beating Pepperdine 80-77 in the final game of the Wooden Legacy Tournament in Anaheim, California.
The Friars were helped by Nate Watson and A.J. Reeves, who each contributed 15 points off the bench.
For Reeves, it is his highest point total since the season opener. It is also the first time Reeves has reached double figures scoring since the season opener.

PC Holds Off Pepperdine
After leading by as much as 14 points midway through the second half, Providence held an 11 point lead, 67-56, with 6:26 to play after a three from AJ Reeves.
The Friars would see their lead trimmed to two on a number of occasions, the last time coming with 29 seconds left when Pepperdine’s Kessler Edwards got a layup to go to make the score 77-75.
On PC’s next possession, Alpha Diallo would knock down one of two free throws to give the Friars a 78-75 lead with 23 seconds to play.
The Friars' defense would come up big on Pepperdine’s ensuing possession when Duke would steal a pass from Ross over center court.
Duke would get fouled following his steal and knock down both free throws to give the Friars an 80-75 lead.
Pepperdine would get a jumper in the final seconds to make the final score 80-77.
Next Up
The Friars return to action on Friday, December 6 when they renew their rivalry with the University of Rhode Island.
Game time is set for 7 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN2.
