Who Is Looking to Succeed Langevin — Who’s In, Out, and Not Telling
Wednesday, January 19, 2022
Congressman Jim Langevin’s announcement was only minutes old when texts, emails, and social media lit up with messages from potential candidates looking to succeed the retiring 20 plus year veteran.
This is the first open Congressional seat in Rhode Island since Patrick Kennedy bowed out in 2010 in the first congressional district, setting up a very competitive race between then-Providence Mayor David Cicilline (D) and State Representative John Loughlin (R).
