It is the first time in the union’s history that they are endorsing a candidate for Mayor.
“Following a comprehensive review of the candidate field and a series of discussions regarding the future of public safety in the city, the membership of Local 1261 voted unanimously to support Greenman. The union cited his deep understanding of municipal challenges, his commitment to labor relations and collaboration, and his clear vision for modernizing Pawtucket’s emergency services as the primary drivers for the endorsement,” said the Union in a statement
"Adam Greenman has consistently demonstrated that he understands the gravity of the work our members perform every day," said Erik Cordeiro, President of IAFF Local 1261. "In our meetings, Adam didn't just offer platitudes; he demonstrated a commitment to public safety, listened intently to our concerns, and had clear ideas for improving the city. He understands that a safer Pawtucket starts with a well-supported fire department."
"We believe Adam Greenman is the leader who will listen to the experts in the field, respect the collective bargaining process, and ensure that when a resident calls 911, our department has every tool necessary to provide a world-class response,” the statement continued.
Local 1261 said it “plans to mobilize its members and supporters throughout the campaign season to ensure Greenman’s message of a safer, stronger Pawtucket reaches every part of the city.”
AG Primary
“I’m going to be straight with you — Keith Hoffmann is someone you can trust,” Mutter said. “He has the integrity to do this job the right way, not for the powerful, but for the people.”
Mutter pointed to the role the Attorney General’s Office plays in supporting cities and towns, particularly in public safety, consumer protection, and issues impacting families.
“As Mayor, I need a partner at the Attorney General’s Office who understands what communities like Cumberland are dealing with — keeping people safe, supporting our police, and making sure our schools are strong and our kids are protected,” Mutter said. “Keith has the experience, the commitment to excellent work, the backbone to stand up when it matters, and the independence we need in our Attorney General.”
“Hoffmann has centered his campaign on standing up for Rhode Islanders to take on powerful interests and the many challenges facing our state—and he has the experience to back it up. He’s fought the Trump Administration’s overreach and extremism, fought to protect access to healthcare, and taken action to protect seniors from criminal scammers and to make our communities safer for all of us,” said the Hoffman campaign in a statement
“I’m proud to have Mayor Mutter’s support,” Hoffmann said. “He’s a leader who has never backed down from doing what’s right for his community. I look forward to partnering with Mayor Mutter and other great municipal leaders in our state when I’m elected.”

Picozzi Endorses Solomon
Warwick Mayor Frank Picozzi today announced his endorsement of Joseph Solomon Jr. for Attorney General of Rhode Island, citing Solomon’s unique combination of courtroom experience, public safety credentials, and legislative record as a consumer protection champion.
“Joe Solomon has spent his career doing the work of an Attorney General – as a prosecutor, as a bail commissioner making tough public safety calls, and as a legislator writing laws that protect Rhode Island families,” said Mayor Picozzi. “He’s not running to learn this job. He’s been doing it.”
Picozzi has served as Warwick’s mayor since 2021, when he defeated Solomon's father. Picozzi pointed to Solomon’s record of holding violent offenders accountable, protecting seniors from scammers, and fighting to keep healthcare affordable as reasons for his support.
“Joe Solomon is the best person for this job,” Picozzi said. “He understands that people want someone who’s going to fight for them, not for special interests.”
