GOP Chair Bell Calls Mattiello Public Enemy #1 on Ethics
Tuesday, October 27, 2015
Rhode Island Republican Chairman Brandon Bell has called House Speaker Nicholas Mattiello the number one foe on ethics.
"After the scandalous revolving door hire of Donald Lally was exposed, Mattiello said: 'I don't think it smells bad. After Gordon Fox resigned, he told WPRI TV that 'I know of no corruption in government.' If you want good government, if you want ethics oversight over the General Assembly, then you have to get rid of the good government's number one foe at the State House: Speaker Mattiello," Bell said.
This comes after Speaker Mattiello has said that he is "not considering an ethics bill."
