He previously worked for WPRO radio, a Cumulus station in Providence -- as well as Providence Democratic Mayor Jorge Elorza.
In a statement, the Fung campaign said, "Mayor Fung has accepted the resignation of Andrew Augustus effective immediately. Upon hire, an inspection of his social media account was conducted, but obviously not six or seven years back. While Andrew is a different person now, and is extremely embarrassed by this, he does not want to reflect poorly on the Mayor or distract from any part of this campaign."
Augustus was paid approximately $3,500 a month as press secretary. He joined the Fung campaign on March 7, 2018.
