1.  What do you think is the biggest political issue this campaign season in Rhode Island?

I think Rhode Island’s greatest challenge this year will be navigating the impacts of the pandemic on our economy. Our State’s economic recovery affects us all- from small business owners, to graduating college students entering the job market. We are all facing new challenges in paying our bills. My hope is that the State can work to assist people and businesses. It’s a tall order, but if State leaders think out of the box, we will make progress.

2.  What do we need to do to improve Rhode Island's economy?

To improve Rhode Island’s economy, we must improve education. To me that means ensuring that every child across the state has access to opportunities through education. I think we can do this by supporting teachers, improving our school buildings, and upgrading school technology for all students. I also believe in fostering technical education. Exposure to new opportunities in careers and quality guidance counselling is essential. A more robust business climate will be built on the strength of a well educated populous.

3.  What is the greatest challenge facing Rhode Island as a state?

The greatest challenge RI faces is its aging workforce. We need to offer affordable higher education and/or job training opportunities that will prepare young people for RI’s job market. Simultaneously, we must entice young college graduates to stay in Rhode Island by ensuring that there are high-quality, high-paying jobs for them to fill by attracting new businesses to our wonderful state.

4.  Why are you running for office? What makes you uniquely qualified?

I am running for office because I saw first-hand the impact of the pandemic on my family and of all those around me. I feel compelled to become part of the solution. I’m hoping to draw on my business background to offer pragmatic solutions to our State’s challenges. Rhode Island has so many wonderful things to offer and I’d like to make sure it stays that way.

5.  Who is your inspiration?

My mom is my inspiration. She is the hardest working woman I know. And she always finds time to give back to her community and to uplift those around her.
