Monday, Patriot's Day in our sister city Boston, started as a celebration with thousands of poeple in attenance for the 117th running of the Boston Marathon. The day turned quickly to an icy horror as two individual suspects dropped bombs in bags at two key sites along the race route.

Three died in the explosions that rocked the country and more than 130 individuals were injured, some seriously.

The explosions started a manhunt and investigation that quickly identified two suspects as the bombers. The two were later found to be brothers, Dzhokar Tsarnaev (19) and Tamerlan Tsarnaev (26).In less than one week's time, the Massachusetts State Police, Boston Police, FBI and local law enforcement from around the Commonwealth were able to apprehend the suspects after a manhunt that shut down the City of Boston and surrounding communities.

Bringing the two suspects into custody did not come without casualty, with one MIT police officer wounded fatally and a MBTA officer hospitalized.
