“I live at Lloyd and Brown. Caught this Ring video of a guy stealing our grocery delivery and welcome mat,” said the resident, who shared the video to Providence resident Cheryl Simmons’ listserve on Tuesday.

The video shows a car approaching an intersection, slowing down, backing up, and then someone from the vehicle going to remove the items from the porch.

“Picture of his face is clear. I'm interested in the community's help identifying him,” they added. “I think it may be more helpful for people to see the picture than the video, though the video is pretty remarkable. I would take any help or advice!”

Non-emergency calls to Providence Police to offer tips can be made at 272-3121.

In December, GoLocal reported that porch pirates were caught on the East Side — following a chase.

"Providence police apprehended two females and a juvenile following a chase that saw a vehicle with stolen plates ultimately crash into a snowbank -- with multiple stolen packages from the East Side of Providence including cologne, children's books, and a Star Wars toaster.

According to police, addresses on the envelopes and packages were front Pitman Street, Wayland Avenue, Taber Avenue, Doane Avenue, and more."
