Thayer Street Brawl — Man Hospitalized

Providence police responded to a report of a large fight — and a possible stabbing — on Thayer Street overnight.
One man was taken to the hospital.

According to police, dispatch had received a report of a large group of people fighting outside, and that a man had possibly been stabbed.
Upon arrival, police said they saw multiple people gathered and shouting for rescue.
Police said they encountered a “highly intoxicated” man lying on the ground, who they said had blood all over his head and mouth.
Rescue was called to the scene and the man was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.
According to police, the man was treated for his wounds sustained during the fight; he did not have any stab wounds however.
Police say the victim and witnesses refused to cooperate with police.
