Police said they met with a man who said that while driving on Academy Avenue, he saw a young boy with a backpack walking alone — and called police as he stopped to stay with the boy.

According to police, upon talking with the boy, he said he left his home on Cranston Street for a walk.

Police noted the boy was wearing only a T-shirt and underwear.

The boy told police he lived at home with his mother and father; he was evaluated by rescue and determined to be fine.

Police reportedly responded to the home address given by the boy and made contact with his father.

The child’s father took custody of the boy; police have not said if there were be any charges at this time.
