RI State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police Endorses Flanders Over Whitehouse
Sunday, October 28, 2018
The RI State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police has endorsed former RI State Supreme Court Robert Flanders over sitting Democrat Sheldon Whitehouse in the battle for the United States Senate seat. Whitehouse is a former RI Attorney General.
The FOP endorsed Sheldon Whitehouse for re-election in 2012.
"I am honored and humbled to receive the endorsement of the Rhode Island State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police. Our law enforcement professionals put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe and they deserve a Senator who will have their back. Though they often do not get the credit they deserve, our police officers and other law enforcement personnel are Rhode Island's heroes," Flanders said in response to the endorsement.
