Providence Police Confiscate Loaded Gun Outside Nightclub

Providence police seized a loaded gun from an individual after a nightclub in the city let out Friday morning.
About Incident
Police were on location Thursday night at Lit Lounge on Broad Street for the club closing.
GET THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS HERE -- SIGN UP FOR GOLOCAL FREE DAILY EBLASTAccording to police, roughly 100 people were gathered outside the club and on the street shortly after 1 AM Friday morning, when they observed a masked male go to his car — and return.
Police stopped the man — Edward King, age 22 — and seized a loaded 9 mm gun with obliterated serial numbers.
Upon a search of King’s vehicle, police said they found additional ammunition, cash, and suspected marijuana.
All of those items were seized as well and King was placed into custody.
As GoLocal was first to report in November, a person associated with Lit Lounge was arrested for reportedly trying to bribe a Board of Licenses official for an entertainment license.
