The suspect facing multiple child molestation charges who reportedly cut his ankle bracelet and escaped home confinement has a lengthy criminal record, GoLocal has learned.

As GoLocal first reported, law enforcement on Tuesday said that Corey Dennis, age 36, was listed as “escaped” after removing his monitoring device.

A review of court records shows dozens of arrests for Dennis dating back to 2006 — and varying degrees of prison sentences, suspended sentences, and probations.

Lengthy Criminal Background

Court entries show that Dennis had been arrested in a litany of drug, breaking and entering, and domestic abuse charges over the years.

In 2007, he was arrested by Pawtucket Police for distributing drugs on school grounds in addition to other drug charges.

Between 2009 and 2023, he was arrested in numerous jurisdictions for breaking and entering, domestic assault, resisting arrest, and more.

Records show while he served a number of sentences at the ACI, he was also given multiple suspended sentences and probations.

In 2021, Dennis was arrested for “electronically disseminating indecent material to a minor.”

Records show in 2023, he was arrested on four prior child molestation charges.

On December 7, 2023, at a status conference with Judge Anthony Capraro, Dennis posted bail at $3,000 under home confinement with the following conditions:

- Non-Domestic No Contact Order
- Surrender of Passport
- Surrender of Firearm(s)

The Rhode Island State Police and RI Department of Corrections are now searching for Dennis.
