Opponents Gear Up
“Glocester Citizens for Safety” posted the following to Facebook — making the case for opposing the resolution.
Do you think the Town Council should allow the Glocester "police department’s [right] to exercise sound discretion when enforcing laws impacting the rights of citizens under the Second Amendment?"
Firearms laws are for public safety: we need to make sure that current, CONSTITUTIONAL RI LAWS such as Background Checks for all purchases, Seven Day Waiting Periods, preventing Convicted Domestic Violence Abusers, and individuals who may be Suicidal or Homicidal and those that have been Involuntarily Committed to a Mental Health Facility DO NOT have access to guns. Our existing laws need to be enforced and not be optional to keep us safe here in Glocester.
